Global Chief Investment Officer of BlackRock Climate Infrastructure

Rory O'Connor, Managing Director, is the Global Chief Investment Officer of BlackRock Climate Infrastructure, and is responsible for the portfolio management of BlackRock Climate Infrastructure's Global Renewable Power funds. BlackRock Climate Infrastructure, which was previously called BlackRock Renewable Power, manages investments in onshore wind, offshore wind, and solar projects globally; as well as investments in renewable energy companies, and in the electric vehicle charging, electricity storage, grid and other climate infrastructure sectors. Mr. O'Connor is a founding member of the platform and was Head of Europe from March 2011 to March 2022. Mr. O'Connor has served as the Global CIO of BlackRock Climate Infrastructure since 2019, and is responsible for the portfolio management of BlackRock Climate Infrastructure's Global Renewable Power funds. Mr. O'Connor is also the chair of the BlackRock Climate Infrastructure Investment Committee. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2011, Mr. O'Connor was Group Treasurer, Head of Corporate Finance, and a member of the Group Executive senior management team at NTR plc. Previously, Mr. O'Connor served as Director of Strategic Planning, at Elan Corporation plc, and worked in the M&A Division of Morgan Stanley International in London.

 

Mr. O'Connor earned a degree in International Commerce from University College Dublin in 1997 and a Master in Business Administration from INSEAD in 2001. Mr. O'Connor also graduated from the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in 2009.
