Head of Investment Research and Strategy for Blackrock Private Markets

Mark Everitt, CFA, Managing Director, is Head of Investment Research and Strategy for Blackrock Private Markets. He has a strong Research focus in Transition Capital connecting Centers of Expertise across Investors and developing thought leadership.

 

Mark also works with the BlackRock Investment Institute connecting the macro to the Private Markets micro and vice versa. He leads connectivity with the aim of enhancing investment decisions through better information, debate and data. He works with our clients who are seeking to understand Alternatives investment outlook and allocations.

 

From 2003 to 2018 he was a member of the BAA Investment Committee and Management Committees, had portfolio responsibilities for BAA co-investment, custom solutions and retail focused funds. As Director of BAA Risk Management, he led an investment team evaluating hedge fund portfolios. From 2000 to 2003, he was a managing director for market and liquidity risk with BNP Paribas, leading a team responsible for risk management in fixed income, equity and commodity products across the Americas.

 

From 2008 until 2015, Mr. Everitt was an affiliate instructor for the University of Washington teaching Computational Finance and Risk Management. Mr. Everitt earned a BSc degree, with joint honors, in geography, with a focus in climate and topographic science from the University of Wales in 1988. He has passed all the qualifying examinations for an Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in the UK.
