Global Head of BlackRock Climate Infrastructure

David Giordano, Managing Director, is the Global Head of BlackRock Climate Infrastructure. He leads the investment strategy and organizational management of the team. The BlackRock Climate Infrastructure team has over 300 renewable power, battery energy storage, grid and electrification of transport investments with over 200 investors in seven funds. The team has invested across 20 countries and four continents since inception in 2011.

 

Mr. Giordano has more than 30 years of investment experience. Previously, he was one of the original members of Babcock & Brown's North American infrastructure team where he closed $4 billion of renewable transactions and was on the North American Infrastructure Fund Investment Committee. Mr. Giordano's extensive energy industry experience includes his work at FPL Energy (now NextEra) where he developed and acquired operating and development power assets and played a key role in the first non-registered 144A bond offering for a portfolio of wind assets.

 

Mr. Giordano serves on the American Council of Renewable Energy (ACORE) Board of Directors and has represented BlackRock’s interests in the energy transition globally including COP27 and COP28.

 

Mr. Giordano holds a B.A. in Policy & Management Studies and Economics from Dickinson College, class of 1991; and he earned a Master in Public Administration from Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, class of 1996.
