Adam Ryan
Adam Ryan, Managing Director, is the Chief Investment Officer of Multi-Alternatives within BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) group. As CIO, Adam is responsible for leading investment management and strategy for multi-alternative portfolios across a wide range of liquid and illiquid alternative investments. As Head of the Diversified Strategies team, Adam and the team manage a number of benchmark and outcome-oriented funds including the Dynamic Diversified Growth (DDG) Fund, Climate Action Multi-Asset Fund, ESG Multi-Asset Fund, and ESG Strategic Growth Fund.
Adam's service with the firm dates back to 1999, including his years with Merrill Lynch Investment Managers (MLIM), which merged with BlackRock in 2006. Adam was previously Head of Fixed Income for MLIM's Private Client business before developing and managing diversified multi-asset portfolios for both private and institutional clients.
Adam earned a BA degree with honours in engineering from Cambridge University in 1991.
Adam’s interests include the challenge of managing dynamic and well diversified portfolios and leading and motivating a highly diverse and intellectually curious team. Adam also enjoys being outdoors on his mountain bike in his spare time.
