Chairman of EMEA Private Markets and Head of Multi-Alternatives, Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions
Tarek Mahmoud, Managing Director, is Chairman of EMEA Private Markets, overseeing the activities of BlackRock in the region and Head of Multi-Alternatives within BlackRock’s Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions (MASS) group. In this role, he is responsible for leading the team that designs and manages portfolios across a wide range of liquid and illiquid alternative investments.
Mr. Mahmoud serves as the Chair for BlackRock’s Multi-Alternatives Executive Committee. He is also a member of BlackRock’s Portfolio Management Group Executive Committee, Global Operating Committee, EMEA Executive Committee, Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions Executive Committee, EMEA Investments Committee, Executive Investment Committee and the BlackRock Saudi Arabia board.
Mr. Mahmoud has over 40 years of financial markets and management experience, where he has worked across capital markets, lending, and trading functions. Prior to assuming his current responsibilities, Mr. Mahmoud served as the head of BlackRock's Trading & Liquidity Strategies Group (“TLS”) for EMEA and APAC. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2014, he ran Sovereignty Capital UK, a risk advisory and wealth management firm, which he founded in 2010.
Mr. Mahmoud earned a BA degree from Universite Aix-Marseilles in Economics and an MBA degree from Babson College.
