Mark Everitt, CFA, Managing Director, is Head of Investment Research and Strategy for Blackrock Alternative Investors. He is responsible for thought leadership with respect to all Alternative Investments. He is responsible for the top down perspective as well as enhancing the bottom up investment research. As part of thee duties he leads Alternatives investment strategy with the aim of enhancing our investment processes using data and technology.
Prior to September 2018 he was a member of the BAA Investment Committee and Management Committees, had portfolio responsibilities for BAA co-investment, custom solutions and retail focused funds. As Director of BAA Risk Management, he led an investment team evaluating hedge fund portfolios. From 2000 to 2003, he was a managing director for market and liquidity risk with BNP Paribas, leading a team responsible for risk management in fixed income, equity and commodity products across the Americas. Mr. Everitt joined BNP Paribas London in 1995, where he was the global head of the Counterparty Risk and Portfolio Analysis Team. Prior to joining BNP Paribas, he held roles in management consulting with Price Waterhouse and with NatWest Markets.
From 2008 until 2015, Mr. Everitt was an affiliate instructor for the University of Washington teaching Computational Finance and Risk Management. Mr. Everitt earned a BSc degree, with joint honors, in geography and topographic science from the University of Wales in 1988. He has passed all the qualifying examinations for an Associate membership of the Chartered Institute of Bankers in the UK.
