Head of Americas Institutional Business and BlackRock’s Business in Canada and Latin America
Armando leads BlackRock’s Institutional Business across the Americas as well as BlackRock’s overall Business in Canada and Latin America.
He is a member of BlackRock's Global Operating Committee, Global Client Business Executive Committee, and Global Managing Director promotion committee. He is a member of the Board of Directors for Council of the Americas and 100 Women in Finance. Prior to his current role, Armando was the Head of iShares and Index Business in the Americas.
In his current role, Armando is focused on helping pensions, universities, non-profits, family offices and healthcare systems meet their financial goals and serve their constituents and communities. Overseeing BlackRock’s business in Canada and Latin America, he leads efforts to bring the full breadth of BlackRock’s global and local investment and risk management capabilities to deliver innovative solutions, whether it’s active, alternatives, index, or our Aladdin Risk Management Technology across the region.
Joining BlackRock in 1994, Armando has held numerous leadership roles worldwide, including Head of iShares and Index Business, Head of Latin America Region, Country Head of Iberia, Head of Merrill Lynch Investment Management’s (MLIM) International Wealth Management Business, and Director of MILM’s Private Investor Business.
