Lance Braunstein

Head of Aladdin Engineering

Lance Braunstein is a Senior Managing Director for BlackRock and one of the leaders of its technology platform and strategy. Lance is also a member of the BlackRock Global Executive Committee.

As Head of Aladdin Engineering, Lance leads the team that brings together product, platform and financial engineering to develop Aladdin technology to enable tomorrow’s financial ecosystem. 

Before joining BlackRock in 2019, Lance had been the CIO at E*TRADE, where he was responsible for the technology strategy for the firm. Previously, he was the CIO at OptionsHouse, a retail derivatives trading firm that was acquired by E*TRADE in 2016. He spent 19 years before that at Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs.

Lance received his BA in mathematics at the University of Rochester and his MS in Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University. He received his MBA from the University of Pennsylvania.
