Head of Multi-Asset Portfolio & Investment Consulting | BlackRock

Cindy Shimoide, Director, heads the Multi-Asset Portfolio and Investment Consulting team (MAPIC) for Latin America. Her team is responsible for creating and delivering cross-region tailored portfolio solutions and strategic investment analysis primarily through asset allocation and risk analysis to institutional and wealth clients. In this role, she also provides product education and presents at investor seminars. Cindy is also member of the Latin America Operational Committee and founder of the affinity networks Families at BlackRock and Abilities Network for Latin America.

 

Ms. Shimoide's service with the firm dates back to 2008, including her years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009. Previously, she worked in Brazil starting in 2000, mainly at Itau-Unibanco Asset Management, where she dealt with asset allocation of liability driven portfolios and advising institutional clients on investment strategies as well as high net worth individuals. She also worked for JPMorgan in Sao Paulo and New York across multiple areas including the Private Bank investment team.

 

Ms. Shimoide earned a BA degree in administration from the University of Sao Paulo, graduating in the top 5% of her class, and an MBA degree from the University of Chicago, where she received a GSB Merit Scholarship and a Dean's prize for managing the Latin American Business Group.
