Nicholas Fawcett

Nicholas Fawcett is a member of the Economic and Markets Research group at the BlackRock Investment Institute.

 

Prior to joining BlackRock, Nicholas was a Senior Economist in the Global Investment Research department at Goldman Sachs (GS). There, he worked on a range of global and European macroeconomic issues including forecasting inflation in the Euro area, and GS's proprietary suite of activity and financial conditions trackers.

 

Before joining GS, Nicholas spent five years at the Bank of England, where he worked for the monetary policy committee (MPC), including as an adviser and speechwriter to Martin Weale, one of the external MPC members. Nicholas started his career as a Fellow in Economics at Lady Margaret Hall, one of the colleges of Oxford University.

 

Nicholas has a first class degree in economics from Cambridge University, and an MPhil and DPhil in economics from Oxford University.
