BlackRock in Luxembourg
BlackRock is an independent asset manager founded over 30 years ago, and is today an industry leader with a presence in 38 countries and over 18,000 employees.
We have been in Luxembourg since 1994, working to achieve BlackRock's goal of helping more and more people grow their savings and improve their financial well being.
Today, we have a team of 83 people based in Luxembourg, and manage 34.54 billion euros for our Belgian and Luxembourg clients* [source on screen | *Source: BlackRock, EMEA Country Dashboard Revenue and Flows, as at 30/09/2022
Our expertise covers all major listed asset classes such as bonds and equities, as well as non-listed assets, such as real estate, private equity and infrastructure, and those facilitating renewable energy production.
At BlackRock, we offer our clients different ways to access these investments: either through active funds, which have the objective to beat the market through fundamental or systematic insights, or through ETFs, which are exchange-traded index funds.
These are funds that are efficiently managed in order to replicate the performance of an index and are accessible directly on the major stock exchanges such as Euronext or Xetra.
Thanks to this management method, they benefit from a very low cost structure and constitute transparent, liquid and flexible investment blocks to build diversified portfolios adapted to the profiles of each investor.
BlackRock has an offer of more than 1100 index solutions worldwide * [source on screen |, a large part of which is currently available in Luxembourg. On the active side, BlackRock has 2 of the biggest SICAVs (or investment companies with variable capital) registered in Luxembourg. *Source: BlackRock, as at 30/09/2022
Through this expertise, we aim to give our clients easy and cheaper access to the different asset classes, geographies or sectors of their choice.
In addition to our global presence and our wide range of expertise, including ETFs, another essential pillar characterizing our firm is sustainability.
At BlackRock, we are committed to making sustainability the standard for investing. We do this to help our clients move toward more sustainable portfolios, but also to address the challenge of global warming, which affects us all and will have a long-term impact on the performance of all companies.
Since the beginning of 2020, ESG criteria have been integrated into 100% of active portfolios and portfolios under advice. ESG integration is the practice of incorporating ESG information into investment decisions to improve risk-adjusted returns.
The pandemic has also - contrary to expectations - greatly accelerated the realization that sustainable investing is an essential part of protecting and growing investment value over the long term.
