Vice Chairman
Mark McCombe, Vice Chairman, is responsible for progressing key client relationships and strategic initiatives for the Firm, including key stakeholder engagement across the U.S. and international.
Previously, Mr. McCombe was the Chief Client Officer and Head of the U.S. and Canada region, overseeing all Global client segments and responsible for driving growth in BlackRock’s client businesses.
Mr. McCombe is also one of the Global Executive Sponsors for the Out and Allies network, the Ability Network and a founder of the LEAD program within BlackRock helping grow and mentor top talent within the firm. Additionally, Mr. McCombe serves as the Chairman of the Toigo Foundation, whose mission is to foster the career advancement and increased leadership of underrepresented talent by creating mechanisms for greater inclusion from the classroom to the boardroom.
Mr. McCombe has had an international career in finance spanning more than 30 years across 9 different countries. Before joining BlackRock, he served as Chief Executive Officer in Hong Kong for HSBC. Prior to that, he was based in London where he was Chief Executive of HSBC Global Asset Management.
Mr. McCombe earned an MA degree from Aberdeen University and attended Wharton Business School, where he completed the Advanced Management Program. He was also recognized in the Queen's New Year Honours List in 2006 with an OBE.
